NYFW Review: Georgine

Hey Everyone!!!

On September 8th, I had the great pleasure of attending the Georgnie Fashion Show at Lincoln Center in connection to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. While I was unable to use my own camera to take pictures of the event, I was sent a lovely PDF collage from MAO Public Relations. Here is my review of the show:

Metallic shades and reflective fabrics have been a very popular staple during this year’s spring/summer presentations. The three looks above share a similar champagne and gold toned fabric that adds an endless amount of glamour to any silhouette. In the first look, we see the material being sewn into a straight line gown, while the second two looks create more outerwear-inspired gowns.

Since the introduction of the wrap dress by Diane Von Furstenburg, the silhouette of the wrap skirt has become a hot commodity. Georgine utilized this style of dress throughout its show in a variety of ways that veered away into a more sensuous manner. She also used a variety of different materials, from polyester to lamé, to create the different looks.

Finally, the Georgine show utilized the up and coming trend of deep coral as the new spring/summer color of 2015. The designer was able to use this color in jumpsuits, rompers and swimsuits. In the first look, Georgine combines a deep coral crop top and deep burgundy pant to create a two-toned jumpsuit. In the second and third look, the coral is used as more of an accent then a concentration. All in all, the Georgine collection exuded glamour, interest and promise. More information and links to the clothing can be found here.
